This is based on the familiar 000 sized guitar with revisions to the bracing to give a fuller sweeter tone than is normally associated with this type of instrument. It is available with both a 24.9" scale (the finger picker's favourite), or the dreadnought type 25.4" (for a more forceful flat pickers type of attack).
The Cedar or Mahogany neck has an Ebony fingerboard with 20 wide oval frets and is bound with Ebony, the scale length being 24.9" or 25.4" .There are mother-of-pearl dot markers both on the face and sides of the neck. The head stock has an ornamental hardwood facing, with the Northworthy logo in Abalone, and is scarfe jointed to the neck for extra strength. The fingerboard nut is Bone, and the tuning machines are high quality enclosed types, Gold plated.
The bridge is Rosewood, has a compensated Bone saddle and Brass bridge pins, and is machined ready to accept a standard under saddle Piezo transducer.
The instrument is finished in a highly flexible polyurethane lacquer which is kept as thin as is practically possible, (a gloss finish is available as a no cost option). A variety of cases are available, and prices can be made available on request.
